This you have to see, this Garden of Earthly Delights.

Hieronymus Bosch’s “The Garden of Earthly Delights,” (Museo del Prado, Madrid) is one of the most distinctive and instantly recognizable paintings in the world, but probably too rich for most of us to take in on a single viewing.  Well, here’s an amazing, very hi-res interactive digitization, (courtesy originally, for me at least, of an online piece in the New Yorker, but really made thanks to some very clever people in the Netherlands including Pieter van Huystee films).   This will blow your socks off. Get the biggest computer screen you can access, make some time and space for yourself, and if necessary, put the headphones on.  You can zoom around, expand details, go around the huge complex picture as you like, and/or take one of several excellent, in-depth tours.  To get straight to this amazing, free, interactive, fine art documentary, go here.
